Pittsburgh to hold vigil for victims of Atlanta shooting

PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) — After last week's tragedy involving the eight deaths in an Atlanta shooting, the City of Pittsburgh will hold a candlelit vigil in their memorial.

The service will be held on the portico of the City-County Building (414 Grant St.) Sunday evening.


The City is asking those who plan on attending to arrive at 6:30 p.m.

Speakers will begin the ceremony at 7.

Delaina Ashley Yaun, age 33, Paul Andre Michels, age 54, Xiaojie Tan, age 49, Daoyou Feng, age 44, Soon Chung Park, age 74, Hyun Jung Grant, age 51, Suncha Kim, age 69, Yong Ae Yue, age 63, and their friends and families will be honored at the vigil.

Pittsburgh will also be hosting a livestream of the event so that people can show their respects virtually.

The City is also asking that people in attendance wear their masks and practice social distancing.

The City of Pittsburgh: "Please stand together against hate and condemn violence against Asian Americans."
