Police clear 'possible threat' at Pittsburgh International Airport

Airport operations are NOT affected

Allegheny County Police have cleared a “potential security threat” at Pittsburgh International Airport Thursday.

Airport operations were not affected during the threat.

It happened after a Sun County flight that landed at the Airport.

Airport Director of Public Affairs Bob Kerlik tells KDKA Radio the plane was taxied to the gate and out of an abundance of caution, all passengers were rescreened.

Allegheny County Police tells KDKA Radio "This afternoon, a note that was deemed to be potentially threatening was discovered in the airport. Officials identified the potential plane in question, and out of an abundance of caution, the Allegheny County Police Bomb Squad conducted a sweep of the aircraft and passengers. The passengers and plane were cleared, and it was later determined the note was not threatening in nature."
