Pittsburgh Police discover human remains in Lincoln–Lemington

Homicide detectives are investigating after human remains were found Sunday in Lincoln–Lemington-Belmar.

Pittsburgh police received a 911 call around 2:15 p.m. about a human skull discovered in a wooded area near the 1200 block of Washington Boulevard.

A forensics team was called to the area near Larimer Avenue and were seen at work on a nearby hill by an auto-body shop.

They wrapped up their work around 5:30 and police announced additional human remains were located in the area.

It was not immediately clear if the remains were male or female.

As the investigation continues, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the manner and cause of death.
