Police investigating 7 abandoned puppies in northern WV

Police just across the Pennsylvania border are investigating an animal cruelty case involving seven abandoned puppies.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, in West Virginia, say got a call on Tuesday morning about puppies abandoned on a road.

Deputies found three dogs and transported them to “safe place” and later that morning, four more were found on the side of another road.

“Seven puppies are currently safe and warm,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.

The dogs were found on Smith and Middle Run Roads.

Police are asking anyone with any information on who dropped the dogs off to call 304-564-3311 ext. 234 or contact them through their Facebook page.

Hancock County is a little over an hour away from Downtown Pittsburgh.
