A man was arrested, accused of taping fireworks to mice and blowing them up.
Pittsburgh Police say they were alerted to videos that show “individuals attaching mice to fireworks with duct tape and igniting the devices, which resulted in the animals being killed” last Wednesday in the Northview neighborhood.
Detectives responded to the 410 block of Mt. Pleasant Road where they believe the animal cruelty incident occurred.
Police found tape, remnants of fireworks and over evidence, interviewed witnesses and reviewed nearby CCTV footage.
Officials believe the mice were purchased from a local pet shop.
Police say an unidentified man was taken into custody on unrelated charges, with more charges coming.
