Police says stranger approached child in Indiana Borough

Police in Indiana Borough are alerting the public to reports of a stranger who approached an elementary school student Monday morning.

Police say it happened while the child was waiting for a school bus near the intersection of North 7th and Chestnut Street.

The man was reportedly wearing a hooded sweatshirt and was walking a dog at the time.

If you have any information about this incident, you’re asked to call the Indiana Borough Police Department at 724-349-2121.

Police are also encouraging parents and other caretakers to take time to make sure children are aware of “stranger danger”.

“We are committed to ensuring the safety of our children and will continue working closely with school officials, parents, and the community,” police said.
