The first Presidential debate of the 2024 election season is now history.
A political & polling analyst from the Pittsburgh area summed up the candidates performances an the Big K Morning Show.
Doug Saltzman said the debate was tough to watch at times and people were surprised by two things.
One, Donald Trump was calm:
"Certainly, when they think of those debates four years ago", he said, "how he would constantly interrupt then-candidate Biden. He wasn't able to do that last night because of the muted mics."
The other takeaway, was Joe Biden's performance:
"Where people have concerns about the age of the current president, President Biden, he didn't help himself with that debate".
He says image was at the heart of this debate. Not issues.
