While it's fun to talk about your favorite Thanksgiving side dishes or whether to have turkey or ham, throw some football talk in there too!

But, if dinner time conversation turns to politics, the fun usually disappears.

According to a CBS News Poll, politics registered a mere 16 percent as something people are especially thankful for.

Family and friends topped the list at 79 percent with health second at 71 percent.

Those that responded to the survey did say they are likely to talk a little politics because they are gathering with like-minded individuals.

Surprisingly, only 1 in 10 say they have changed their Thanksgiving Day plans to avoid people who voted differently than they did.

Regardless of who you voted for, family/friends, health and freedom were what all of us were especially thankful for.

So, pass the stuffing and pass on the politics, if you want to keep things civil.
