The Pony League World Series in Washington County is asking for help in correcting the unplayable conditions at Lew Hays Field that forced the cancellation of this year's championship game.
The organization is considering several solutions, including replacing the grass with turf or installing a new drainage system.
Turf is an expensive fix of more than $1.3 million.
A drainage system would cost as much as $250,000, more than half of the Pony League World Series' budget.
So, the league is asking for help from the community and businesses to cover the cost of improvements.
