The Port Authority of Allegheny County is now the Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT), after a press conference Thursday morning.

Every bus now has a new look and color scheme, and the PRT says the new brand reflects a more modern transit agency that wants to improve and simplify public transportation across Pittsburgh.
"For decades, the name Port Authority has led people to jokingly ask where the boats are, so to have a name and brand that reflects the agency and its work is significant,” said Board Chair Jeffrey Letwin.
“In Katharine's short tenure with the now Pittsburgh Regional Transit, the team has embraced technology, sought innovative ways to transform their services, and continues to look for ways to serve the greater community. Now, the name reflects that same vision for our future."
The initial rebranding process began in 2018, but was put on hold during the beginning of the pandemic. Over the next year, brochures, the website, signage and schedules will start to reflect the new brand.
