Jury selection began Monday in the Federal death penalty trial of Robert Bowers... the suspected Tree of Life synagogue shooter.
Attorneys spent 8 hours Monday questioning 16 potential jurors.
The prospective jurors were asked a series of questions, including how they feel about the death penalty and if they would be capable of sentencing Robert Bowers to death, if he's convicted.
He's accused of killing 11 people at the Tree of Life synagogue back in October of 2018.
Attorney Marty Dietz tells the Big K Morning Show this case isn't about guilt or innocence - but rather life or death:
"Everyone knows what happened here", he says. " What people don't know is who is the defendant? Who is he? What made him the way he is? And that's the evidence that's going to come out for the first time in front of the jury".
The court plans to select 12 jurors and six alternates. That process could take several weeks.
