UPMC is laying off about 1 percent of its workforce in response to post-pandemic challenges.
That’s about 1,000 employees.
Most of the cuts are in non-clinical, non-member-facing roles and offering enhanced severance pay and benefits for employees anyone being laid off.
UPMC says it is also closing open positions and eliminating redundancies.
