Some residents in Allentown are calling for the closing of a mini-mart.
On Saturday afternoon, some Allentown residents along with Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey, City Councilman Bob Charland and Pennsylvania State Representative Aerion Abney rallied in front of the Adan Market 2 on East Warrington Avenue, calling the minimart a nuisance business.
They want it shut down. This comes after 3 deadly shootings inside or in front of the business in the past three years.
In 2021 and 2022 a teen was killed in front of the minimarket, and on March 3, a triple shooting occurred at the minimarket, leaving a man dead.
Councilman Charland called on District Attorney Stephen Zappala to have the store shut down.
