A Chinese restaurant in Oakland has been hit with a Consumer Alert after an inspection earlier this week.
Hunan Bar on Atwood Street was hit with 16 violations, including four considered “high-risk” after the Allegheny Health Department visited on Wednesday.
According to an inspection, four boxes of dry good were found with mouse droppings and urine. They had also been chewed and some droppings were directly contacting rice flour and cumin seeds. Inspectors say that the owner threw the boxes away and that it is a repeat violation.
“Too-many-to-count” mouse droppings were also found on boxes of cumin seeds, red pepper flakes, rice flour and fermented vegetables in a storage hallway, along with on nearby shelves and the flood, behind buckets of soy sauce in the kitchen entryway and other areas.
Other high-risk violations include a pan of eggs stored at room temperature on a prep table, lack of a three-compartment sink in the kitchen and deli slicer had old food on it.
