A Chinese restaurant in Southwestern PA is “out of compliance” after a food inspection this week.
The PA Department of Agriculture says Great Wall Chinese Restaurant in Latrobe was hit with nearly a dozen health violations following an inspection on Wednesday.
Some of the violations discovered include evidence of insects in the kitchen with three live cockroaches found in a bait station. The restaurant does have a pest control program.
Inspectors say the rear exit has a gap that doesn’t protect against insects and rodents from entering.
Also, a live cat was found in the dumpster area. Inspectors say the cat needs to be removed.
Other issues include the handwashing sink being used for more than washing hands, can opener not being cleaned, food debris found throughout the kitchen, mop not being hung up to dry properly, lack of chlorine in the dishwasher and more.
