A restaurant that was ruled “out of compliance” after a state inspection a couple of weeks ago, is now if full compliance after a follow-up inspection.
Kellie’s Creekside Bar & Grill in Trafford PA was given the all-clear after an inspection on Monday.
All "violations" have been corrected.
Kellie tells KDKA Radio some of the original violations were not actually warranted.
“Mold” that was observed in an ice machine was actually a discoloration, since the machine had recently been cleaned and sanitized.
No pests or rodents were found during the follow-up and certified food safety manager is working at the restaurant.
“As a small local business, public reporting of inspection findings can have a major impact on customer perception and financial stability,” Kellie tells KDKA Radio. “While we fully respect the importance of health inspections and accountability, we also believe it is equally important for the public to receive complete and updated information when follow-up inspections demonstrate compliance.”
Kellie adds their equipment is washed and their deli slicer is run through a high-temperature food residue. The previous report stated dried food residue, but Kellie says that was a small piece of food on a non-food contact surface.
Kellie also pointed out that the slush machine that was written up is only used seasonally and was not in use at the time of the inspection and the “buildup” that was found was stain from red slush mix.
Kellie’s Creekside Bar and Grill is located at 560 State Route 130 in Level Green.
