The Pittsburgh Police K-9 Unit is mourning the loss of one of their own.
The unit announced earlier this week that a retired canine officer “Fredy” unexpectedly died.
He was a Patrol/Explosive Detection K9 who worked with the K9 Unit from June 2014 through this past January.
He spent six months of retirement with his handler Officer Bogert and his family before his passing.
“RIP Fredy.
Your loyal service to the City of Pittsburgh and its citizens will never be forgotten,” the K-9 Unit posted on Facebook.
