PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) Robert Morris University appointed their new president on Wednesday, and they made history while doing it.
Dr. Michelle Patrick was named the ninth president in RMU's history and the first woman to take the position.
The university has spent the last year navigating some contentious situations, first with the sudden removal and reinstatement of its hockey programs.
Most recently, George Washington University voted to drop the Colonials mascot, raising questions if RMU would do the same.
Patrick didn't commit to changing the name, but did say they university will work on a new strategic plan.
Patrick will take the office effective immediately.
