The Salvation Army says it needs the public’s help after a trash compactor caught fire Thursday at its Adult Rehabilitation Center on the South Side.
While there were no injuries, all of the donations that had been made to the center, more than 65,000-pounds, had to be destroyed because of smoke damage.
Their insurance covers damage to the building. but not the donations being stored there.
So, the Salvation Army says it urgently needs new donations.
They ask those who can help to visit HERE to find a drop-off location.
