The days ahead of Easter this year are getting much sweeter thanks to our friends at Sarris Candies. Check out the video on this page to see the big delivery at one of several area Boys & Girls Clubs locations around Pittsburgh.
When company President Bill Sarris reached out to me with the idea to give away some candy for kids I had no idea he was going this big.
Inside the Sarris Candies truck are about a dozen pallets stacked with boxes, and inside those boxes, one of the coolest things I think I've ever seen. They call it "Easter Basket In A Box".
The truck started the day with 2,000 of them and they're going across the area to kids through the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania and a few other organizations. By the way the value of all this candy is about $80,000, wow!
Sarris Candies does it again. At 2:53 in the video on this page, my cousin Eileen Stewart, who is the BGCWPA's Corporate and Community Engagement Manager, talks about this amazing act of kindness, and how Sarris has done even more in the past.
