Sarris Candies is expanding in Washington County.
You’ve probably seen the building if you travel on I-79 near Canonsburg.
Sarris purchased the old Fort Pitt Bridge works about a mile from their store.
The 130,000 square foot facility will eventually house all of its manufacturing operations.
CEO Bill Sarris tells KDKA Radio it's been a plan long in the works.
“The pandemic caused a lot of supply issues, nails, simple things like nails,” said Sarris. “Clips, pipes, electrical supplies, electrical boxes. It’s coming back as far as the supply chain but that was another issue that put us back at least a year.”
He says guests will be able to tour the facility. Sarris plans to slow move its production capacity, with full production there by fall 2025.
