A Pittsburgh-area school cafeteria has been ruled “out of compliance” after an inspection Wednesday by state health officials.
The Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety says the Aliquippa Junior-Senor High School on Harding Avenue has a list of five violations.
Those violations include items behind held at temperatures above the cold food safe zone of 41 degrees or lower.
They include cheese at 61.6 degrees and cut vegetables at 65.1. The ambient temperature of the cooler was 64.5. All items were thrown away and the cooler was put out of service.
The report also says that all three of the cafeteria’s coolers are not working properly.
New shelves in one of the coolers are “not allowed for use in food service due to design and type of construction.” Those shelves need to be removed.
