A woman accused of stealing more than $4,000 from a scholarship fund honoring a fallen McKeesport police officer is headed to trial.
The fund was created in memory of Officer Sean Sluganski, who was killed in the line of duty in 2023.
KDKA-TV reports Tracy Whitney is facing six remaining charges, five of them felonies.
Police say her job with the McKeesport Area School District gave her sole online access to the account, and investigators say bank records show she used the money for personal expenses.
Her attorney has asked for ARD, a diversion program that can lead to the charges being dismissed after successful completion.
That request is pending.
Her attorney also says the money has been repaid.
Whitney is due in court in November.
