Second firearm found at TSA checkpoint at Pittsburgh Airport

Another firearm was found at the TSA checkpoint at Pittsburgh International Airport.

According to a press release from TSA, officials prevented a Michigan man from bringing a loaded handgun on a flight on March 24.


The .380 caliber handgun was loaded with six bullets.

Officials were able to see the firearm from the X-ray machine at the checkpoint. Allegheny County Police was alerted, took the gun.
The man is now facing a weapon charge.

"Part of being a responsible gun owner is knowing where your firearm is at all times," said Karen Keys-Turner, TSA's Federal Security Director for the airport. "Not knowing that you're carrying a deadly weapon is inexcusable."

A firearm was found at Pittsburgh International Airport on Wednesday, March 23 as well.
