The NFL and a number of law enforcement agencies held a news conference Tuesday to talk about the security effort going into the NFL Draft.

Between a visible uniformed police presence, here will also be plain clothes officers among the crowd.

“At this time the FBI is aware of no specific or credible threats targeting the 2026 NFL Draft or any of the adjoining events that will occur here across our city and the region over the next several days,” said Richard Evanchcec with the FBI.

NFL Security Chief Cathy Lanier say the NFL One Pass app will be essential.

The app will be used to pushed information and alerts out during the event.

Cathy Lanier says this region has really stepped up its game over the past 18 months or so of planning in terms of coordinating the preparations for the event.

The FBI reminds people with drones they will not be allowed in the vicinity of the draft.

Pets will also not be allowed within the draft activities.

And recreational and private boats will not be allowed on the three rivers in the draft perimeter.

Pittsburgh police chief Jason Lando says his team's focus at the draft will be the safety of city residents and guests.

When asked if officers would get involved in the event of any ICE enforcement at the event, he said that does not fall under Pittsburgh Police responsibilities.

But if there were a struggle like the highly-publicized ICE encounter near the Zone 3 station last month, “we also have a duty and obligation not to allow anyone to get injured so we will not stand by and watch someone get injured, we will intervene in any situation, regardless who who’s involved in order to make sure that situation ends safely,” said Chief Lando.
