Pennsylvania senator Bob Casey was in Beaver County today, showing support for those affected by the East Palestine train derailment, while denouncing the rail company responsible for it.
It's been nearly three months since that train derailed, causing hazardous materials to be spilled and released into the air.
Senator Casey said Norfolk Southern has not followed through on its promises to assist the residents of nearby Darlington Township.
And as far as supporting his proposed Railway Safety Act?
"Why don't you support the damn bill?", he rhetorically asked. "If you really care about rail safety and you really care about the people of Darlington Township and the people of Ohio, support the bill!"
Casey says there is bipartisan support for his bill, which if passed, would provide safety for residents while holding rail companies accountable for their hazardous train disasters.
