Around 4,000 Columbia Gas customers in Beaver County are temporarily without service today.
The affected areas include Baden, Conway, Economy and Freedom.
The utility shut down service as a precaution due to an issue with natural gas introduced into the system by a third-party supplier.
The shutdown is expected to take several days.
