Severe weather threatens Western PA Tuesday

There is the potential for severe weather around Western Pennsylvania on Tuesday, July 21.

The National Weather Service says heavy storms are possible with downed trees and wires the primary concern for forecasters.

National Weather Service meteorologist Fred McMullen says there is an “enhanced risk, which is a level three out of five . . . those happen about once or twice a year for our region.”

The timing of the storms is between noon and 8 p.m. with a “weak” tornado potential and heavy rain.

Areas south of I-70 could have flooding risks.
