A man wanted on an outstanding probation warrant in Washington County and several other warrants, including sexual assault was arrested on Tuesday.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says 35-year-old Mason Smith of Washington was taken into custody after it was discovered he was staying at the Fort Pitt Motel in Oakdale.
Smith was wanted on an outstanding warrant in Allegheny County stemming from four felony county from a sexual assault.
He also had two arrest warrants in Washington County for PFA violations which also involved the victim in the Allegheny County case.
Detectives set up surveillance in the area near the motel after a month-long investigation. Smith was taken into custody without incident.
