
One of the last remaining GAP clothing stores in the Pittsburgh area closed this week.
The GAP on the 5400 block of Walnut Street in Pittsburgh’ Shadyside closed on Monday.
A note on the former store’s location reads, “This location is permanently closed.”
A spokesperson for GAP said that they have no comment on the closing at this time.
The Walnut Street GAP had been a community staple for over 35 years.
There are two remaining GAP location’s in the Pittsburgh area.
One is located at Ross Park Mall. The other is a GAP Factory store at Tanger Outlets in Washington County.
In October 2020, GAP announced plans to close about 350 stores across the country.
No word on the Shadyside closing is connected to the brand’s consolidation plan.
