If you’re heading to tonight’s Penguins game you’re not going to get the Jaromir Jagr bobblehead you’re expecting.
The reason, the shipment carrying the bobbleheads was stolen in California after they arrived from overseas.
Fans will get a voucher to receive the bobblehead at a later date. The voucher will have a one-time scannable barcode that will allow them to pick it up at a later date.
The Penguins found out they were victims of theft after the shipment didn’t get delivered as scheduled.
“We were shocked to be a victim of cargo theft, and we are working closely with local and federal authorities on the investigation” said Penguins President of Business Operations Kevin Acklin. “While this unfortunate incident adds to the legend of Jaromir Jagr, who will be in attendance as our guest at tonight’s game, we look forward to resolving this theft and delivering the prized Jagr bobbleheads to their rightful homes, with our fans."
There is an investigation underway and the Penguins will make no further comment to not interfere with an open investigation.
The pickup location and date will be announced when the bobbleheads are securely in the possession of the Penguins. Only those with a voucher will be able to get one.
Jagr bobbleheads are already showing up on ebay.
The Penguins are embracing the situation with this hilarious video, featuring Jagr, the actual person.
