Where can you find the best cheese pizza in the world?
According to the experts in Las Vegas, it's right here in Pittsburgh at any of the six Slice on Broadway locations.
Slice won the World's Best Cheese Slice last week at this year's Pizza Expo in Vegas.
In a city with such established pizza names as Fiori's, Aiello's and Mineo's, Owner Rico Lunardi tells the Big K Morning Show that the "World's Best Cheese" category defines their brand perfectly.
“You make a plain pizza, red sauce with our crust, our dough and our cheese and Chris Ostapenko, my main man in Beechview, he’s been with me for 15 years, made his pizza like he does every day and the judges loved it and we brought home a victory,” said Lunardi.
He adds they pay attention to the way they make their dough, sauce and the kind of cheese they use.
Lunardi says it isn’t just a victory for Slice, it’s a win for the entire city.
“People are starting to think of Pittsburgh having the best pizza, not only because of use winning, but we have so many good pizza shops here in Pittsburgh.”
He says they've already been getting a lot of new customers who want to taste the award-winning pizza for themselves.
