A small dog became trapped in Carnegie Lake Thursday afternoon and had to be rescued by first responders.
According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, a Yorkshire Terrier became trapped in an opening under a walkway slab after falling into the lake at Highland Park.

A Pittsburgh Park Ranger went into the water to to try to pull the dog out. EMS divers had to be called in to assist.
The dog was rescued and reunited with its owner.
