Snow showers could fly this week in Pittsburgh area

Easter has come and gone, the Pirates Home Opener at PNC Park is this Friday and green is starting to bloom on trees, spring is really year.

But, even though the calendar says its April, the snow is stubbornly hanging around.

Snow is in this week's forecast, but it isn’t expected to accumulate.

AccuWeather meteorologist Dean DeVore says there's a chance of snow on Wednesday, Thursday and Opening Day Friday.

Things will get colder on Wednesday and rain could turn to snow showers into Thursday morning with temps in the low 40s and real feels in the 30s.

On Friday, snow rain and snow showers could be sticking around before the weather breaks with sunshine later one, but temperatures will continue to be in the 40s.

So, if you’re heading to PNC Park this Friday, you may need a few extra layers.

If you’re going to the game Saturday, it’s expected to be cloudy and a little warmer with a high of 48 and Sunday will see some sun and a high near 60.
