PennDOT, along with the state's DUI Association, the South Hills DUI Task Force, and the Allegheny County DA's office, is urging residents to drive sober during the Independence Day holiday period. Mount Lebanon Police Chief Jason Haberman discussed celebrating with friends and family while ensuring safe travel:
"This does not only include driving but it includes people on cycling, motorcycles, walking. So what we want to encourage is everyone involved to do the right thing, make the right choices, make good decisions."
There will be multiple DUI checkpoints in the area as many people will be traveling for the July 4th holiday.
