In an exclusive interview with KDKA's Colin Dunlap, South Allegheny superintendent Dr. David McDonald talked about how shots were fired at his school's Football game last Friday night and how it has prompted security changed.
Dr. McDonald says he felt sick Friday night, right after the incident and how it sent students running, but then on Saturday evening, he began to think about the student who allegedly fired the gun.
“Unfortunately, he made a decision that’ probably going to have a major impact on him moving forward and we got to do better in education, noticing those kids, supporting those kids and helping those kids get back on track,” said McDonald.
South Allegheny is launching new security procedures at its sporting events including metal detector screenings and checking bags.
