South Side Giant Eagle evacuated after bomb threat

40 to 50 shoppers and workers had to evacuate Giant Eagle's South Side store Monday night as police investigated a bomb threat.

An anonymous caller to 911 around 8:15 p.m. said there was a bomb inside Giant Eagle's Wharton Street location.

The bomb squad searched inside and outside the store before the 'all clear' was given about 10 p.m.

A Giant Eagle spokesperson says the store has reopened.
