Springdale Council approved last night an application to build a controversial data center at the site of the former Cheswick Generating Station.
The vote was 5-2 in favor of a conditional-use application, with some council members saying a legal battle with the developers was likely if they rejected the project.
Dozens of people opposed to the data center showed up and repeated concerns about noise, power demand and environmental effects.
