Squirrel Hill home invasion suspect ID'd and charged

A home invasion suspect who broke into a Squirrel Hill house has been identified and charged.

Police say Jerry Chambers stole $19,000 in cash from the residence on Beechwood Boulevard last month.

Two teens who were there say Chambers threatened to kill them if they talked to police.

Investigators say video shows Chambers in a white GMC pickup truck before and after the burglary in Squirrel Hill.

A few days later, the same pickup was used by four juveniles in a failed attempt to steal an ATM at Sheetz in Cheswick.

Chambers was arrested the next day as he returned that truck at Enterprise-Rent-A-Car in Verona.

Police say he's a suspect in multiple felony cases between August and November.
