Slippery Rock University President inks up to push student vaccines

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio KDKA) - Slippery Rock University President William Behre will receive a permanent SRU-themed tattoo on his right arm if 75% of students are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 by December 3.

The institution currently has a 52% vaccination rate among students.

"Ultimately, this is about our students staying healthy and our university staying open," Behre said during the KDKA Radio Morning Show Tuesday. "I do get worried that once the warm weather stops and everyone's inside all the time, we'll be at a greater risk of spread. So before that happens, I'd like us to get more people vaccinated."

The “Rock the Shot, Ink the President” campaign will also give one student a chance to win free tuition for the Spring 2022 semester. Other incentives are on the table as well.
