The Republican candidate looking to unseat Democratic State House Representative Arvind Venkat has been removed from the ballot.
Commonwealth Court ruled that Dr Ehab Akkary does not meet the state's residency requirement.
A spokesman for the Venkat campaign says they would anticipate the GOP may run a write-in candidate, but as of now, it looks "like a clear path to the general election."
Rep. Venkat represents the 30th legislative district in Pennsylvania, which consists of parts of the North Hills.
