Nearly every Pittsburgher has some kind of knock-off Steelers, Penguins or Pirates clothing or memorabilia.
PA Attorney General Dave Sunday has announced that agents with the Organized Retail Crime Section seized several items of counterfeit merchandise Tuesday evening.
Sunglasses, hats, blankets and other merchandize was seized with Sunday warning fans to be aware of any knock-off items for sale.
“This event has caused a lot of excitement for the city of Pittsburgh, football fans, and everyone planning to attend the many events surrounding the draft — I wish you all a safe and enjoyable weekend,” Attorney General Sunday said. “To the bad actors with ill intentions who think they can blend into the crowds and prey on unsuspecting visitors — think twice, we will be watching. Along with our partners, we will be on site in full force.”
Sunday says to shop at only “trusted retail locations and authorized online sellers”, to be aware of deals that seem “too good to be true”, check for poor quality and keep track of your purchase.
