Steelers send letter to fans after anger over players appearing on stage with Trump

The Steelers have sent out a letter to angry fans and season tickets holders, after a couple of players appeared on the stage with President Trump in West Mifflin last week.

Mason Rudolph and Miles Killebrew, as well as four-time Super Bowl champion Rocky Bleier attended that rally, and gave the President a custom jersey, proclaiming him an honorary Steeler.

“With the number 47 as the 47th President of the United States, a number that hangs in the National Football League Hall of Fame, I’d like to present this to a Hall of Fame President,” said Bleier during the rally at U.S. Steel Irvin Works. “Please accept it.”

In an email obtained by the Post-Gazette, the Steelers said, in part, "Our alumni and current players make their own individual decisions that reflect their views and they do not necessarily represent the view of the entire Pittsburgh Steelers organization.”
