25-time Grammy award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Stevie Wonder has announced a series of concerts through the month of October leading up to November's elections.
Wonder says the shows will call for "joy over anger, kindness over recrimination and peace over war."
Wonder's new song is titled "Can We Fix Our Nation's Broken Heart" and it is the legendary songwriter's first new song in four years.
“We’ve come together with purpose far bigger than you and me/Don’t have no time for hatred and negativity/It’s you and me, we hold the key/So tell me please, can we fix our nation’s broken heart," read some of the lyrics.
The 10-city tour will begin October 8th and travel to some key battleground states including Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, and Wisconsin. There are also shows in New York, Minneapolis, Detroit and others before wrapping up in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Wonder is a vocal supporter of the Democratic ticket. He performed on stage during the third day of the Democratic National Convention at the United Center in Chicago in August. He spoke and performed his 1973 classic, “Higher Ground.”
Tickets for all shows go on sale Friday at AXS.com.
