Statistics show that the vast majority of gun crimes committed in this country involve lost or stolen guns.
On the Big K Morning Show, Governor Tom Wolf says it's time to do something about that, “Let’s put a rule in place that says if you lose your gun, or it’s stolen, report it. We don’t have that law right now, how much of this would be addressed if we simply did that. That’s not taking the gun away from anybody.”

Other gun legislation that the governor supports includes: safe storage, gun show loopholes, and red flag laws.
According to CeaseFirePA, around 21 firearms are going missing a day in Pennsylvania. In the country around 380,000 are stolen in a year, 20 times more than the amount acquired from licensed gun dealers.
Only around 40% of stolen guns are actually reported to law enforcements. The 14 states that have made it law to report stolen weapons 46% decrease in illegal gun movement.
Most of the surrounding states in Ohio, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Delaware have already made this a mandatory law and with the increased gun violence, it only seems natural Pennsylvania does the same.
