After two dogs were left abandoned at Pittsburgh International Airport in 2023, Allegheny County Police have some good news.

Last Friday, an airport employee saw a stray cat in the long-term parking lot.

That employee contacted police who were able to catch the cat.

The found it “extremely malnourished” and it needed to see a veterinarian.

Patrol Officer Edward Watts volunteered to take the cat to the vet and get her the care she needed.

The cat is believed to be about a year old and has underlying issues, but she is expected to make a full recovery.

“Spirit” the cat is now getting used to her new home with Officer Watts and his family.
