Student falls ill after eating edible gummy at Pittsburgh-area elementary school

A Pittsburgh-area school district has learned that a student was in possession of edible gummies resulting in one getting sick.

The East Allegheny School District says that the unidentified gummies were given to a few students on Tuesday.

Some of the students at the gummies and one “became ill and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital.”

After learning of the incident, school administrators contacted local police and the parents of the children involved in the incident.

“The safety and security of our students and staff is the top priority of the East Allegheny School District,” a statement reads “We will continue to cooperate with local authorities until this matter is resolved.” If you have any questions, please contact the superintendent’s office at 412-824-8012, ext.
