As dangerous cold grips western Pennsylvania, one Fayette County motel is opening its doors to help families stay warm.
The Super 8 by Wyndham near Uniontown is offering free rooms to families without heat as bitter cold and sub-zero wind chills move through the region.
The motel shared the offer on social media, saying it’s their way of helping the local community stay safe during dangerous winter conditions.
The rooms are available to South Union Township residents with valid ID, one room per family, on a first-come, first-served basis.
A manager says about half of the motel’s 60 rooms are being set aside, and the offer will remain in place as long as the cold persists.
