Tens of thousands of people are expected to pack into Acrisure Stadium this weekend as Supercross is returning to Pittsburgh for the first time in over 40 years.
Sean Brennen, Director of Public Relations for Monster Energy Supercross tells Larry Richert 26 million pounds of dirt was moved into the stadium in preparation for Saturday's event.
“We have a layer of decking that we put down first and then we cover it with a synthetic plywood . . . for another layer of protection,” said Brennen.
That started on Monday and then all of the dirt was brought it.
“We are one of the largest dirt owners in the world,” added Brennan.
Opening ceremonies will take place at 6:30 p.m. and the race will get underway at 7 p.m.
The event features the world’s best “off-road motorcycle riders” competing for the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship.
