KDKA Radio Editorial: Support For America’s Service Members And Vets

Polls consistently show that support for or opposition to US military action against Iran falls primarily along party lines.

But good people on all sides of the issue can agree on one thing: support for the Americans in the military and especially those in harm's way.

Relatives of several US service members have recently received news their loved ones were killed in an Iranian drone attack. So far, casualties have been limited since the war started last Saturday.

At the same time, we can also support veterans who've returned from duty in Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq.

Steve Monteleone, a veteran himself, founded the It’s About the Warrior Foundation to help struggling veterans with services including medical treatment, pain management, psychiatric care and outreach activities.

And Monteleone pointed out on the Big K Morning Show combat veterans can be triggered by the war in the Mideast, especially those who saw heavy combat. The families of those serving in Operation Epic Fury and the veterans of previous conflicts need to know they’re not alone.
